Katie Li was born in Guangzhou, China, and built a strong foundation in composition and music production while studying at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Now, she continues to pursue her Master’s degree in Composition for Screen at Columbia College Chicago. As a composer with multiple culture, Katie fuses her music style in composition for multimedia, encompassing Orchestral, Chinese folk music, Romantic, Hybrid, and music for Animation.

Katie began her musical journey at a young age when she began playing the piano. Her passion of film music composition rapidly grew after entering in Xinghai Conservatory of Music which was the light of her film music journey. Meanwhile, Her passion of film scoring drives her to win numerous competitions including, Denny Awards 2021 Finalist, ICMA Music Showcase 2022: Asia, and European Recording Orchestra call for score 2024 TOP 50 Nominee. She also collaborated with animation directors for short films and commercial advertisements. Especially, one of her scoring projects of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games ‘Wan Geng Zhi Cheng’ which was crafted by the Xinhua News Agency attracted over 1 million views in Chinese broadcast.
